A closer Forum
Hi Everyone, I have recently bought a property in the countryside near Yecla, Is this website the best one for me ? It seems I may be too far away from Campasol to get the best use from it . Thanks Kevin

Very helpful member
I found Face book ...search for your village ....very helpfull
Kevin, think I,ve spoken before to you, I,m in Villena which is Alicante province hence Costa Blanca, so I am registered on the Costa Blanca forum(same admin as Calida) It is a larger forum and because I,m only 20kms from Yecla, I joined this one too as I felt like you most of the expats are from far away. However I have to admit there aren,t many people who post on either forum within 40kms of my home. We are in the most northernly part of both provinces and most Brits are much further south. In 10 years I can hardly remember anyone from Jumilla(near you) or even Caudette(near me) ever posting. You do however get lots of good information on these forums and on Costa Blanca Forum there is a legendary super helpful poster called Jim Fletcher who can answer everything you need to know. Google C B forum and get on it but you wont get Yecla listed as location so pick the nearest CB town to yourself. It may have to be my town of Villena. You just have to accept as there aren,t any vast expat regions like Camposol, and other areas closer to the coast in our areas you wont get a large representation.
Regards
Pauline.

Hi Kevin
I also live in Yecla & it depends on what you require from this forum ?
It seems that when people 1st move to Yecla they find this forum, trouble is not many people in Yecla seem to use it enough for it to work as well as it could as there is not a big British community in Yecla.
As more British speaking people move to Yecla you may find this changes.
Tony
Thanks for your reply I will certainly look into that ..
cheers Kevin

Thanks Pauline,
I really appreciate your time in getting back to me with such a detailed answer.I will look into your suggestions and hopefully make some progress .
Again many thanks
Kevin
Cheers Tony, Ii guess my main reasons for joining the forums is to keep in touch with expats to make sure I am getting the best out of living in Spain , It makes life a little easier if you can learn without making too many silly mistakes .
Thanks for your reply Kevin

Kevin,
I’m not too far away from you, just like Pauline, and as she said, there aren’t many expats in our area on the forum. So count us in from the Costa Blanca forum and Villena as we are really just down the road. It is great to get and give advice about local stores and businesses as well as the red-tape and everything else, depending on what your interests and needs are. Camposol is not only a bit far away from you to be relevant, it is also a different kettle of fish both geographically and demographically.
A Golden Guide to most information you may need can be found, as Pauline mentioned, under Jim’s Guides. Nothing better! As for local stuff, like where to buy furniture, beds, etc., or where to get bargains in local markets/boot sales, just give us a shout!
Good luck and enjoy the ‘newness’.

Hi Janice , Thanks for your reply , I shall keep all my replies from yourself and other forum users as a " reference guide " I am building up quite a few leads from other people for now and for the future...
It really does help when you can share a problem or two and get the answers to various problems.
kind regards
Kevin

Forum members have been invaluable in the purchase of my property and the legal aspects as well as for the paperwork necessary to achieve each stage of my settling in to a Spanish lifestyle. Take advantage of the wealth of experience and knowledge available first hand! And don’t forget Jim’s Guides - you will find the answers to nigh on any question!
