Hi again everyone. Prior to our arrival to Aguilas in July, we are trying to ascertain which company provides the most cost effective electricity. It is our understanding that electricity is somewhat more expensive in Spain. Look forward to any advice with regard to who to use or who to stay away from.

kind regards

Steve and Anna

It all depends if you are living there full time or just using it as a holiday home.

Iberdrola's Night & Day tariff would be good for full time occupation but not for a holiday home.

Be careful when doing your sums with the various tariffs because the standing charges can be very high. It also depends on your contracted supply 3kw ? 5kw ? etc

We have a 3kw supply & even if we do not use any electric at all our bill is around 14 euro per month.

Thanks Roland. We are moving permanently to Aguilas. Your comments about 3kw & 5kw etc are issues which are unknown to us. Is it the case that a contract is taken out based on assumed consumption? Perhaps you would be good enough to expand on the subject.

Hi Roland,

What is the standing charge on the Night and Day Tarrif, is it much different to the standard tariff?

The update charges on the Night and Day are a good deal lower than what we are paying now.

Cheers

Andy

@Steveandanna

No it has nothing to do with consumption of the electricity it is the 'Contracted Power'.

Shown on your bill as.....

Potencia contratada: 3,3 kW ( If it is a 3.3kw supply )

And charged as below plus 21 % IVA of course

Por potencia contratada 9,67 €

Part of my bill below if it helps

Por potencia contratada 9,67 €

Por energía consumida 8,62 €

Impuesto electricidad 0,94 €

Alquiler equipos medida y control 0,69 €

IVA 21% s/19,92 € 4,18 €

TOTAL IMPORTE FACTURA: 24,10 €

Why not set up an online account ?? You can select English as your language & most of the website is in English.

Muy gracias. Really is very good of you to take the time to explain. Hope to have the opportunity to buy you a drink in the future.

Saludos,

Steve & Anna.
