Does anyone have, or know someone who has a vehicle that is allowed to collect a few parcels from Torrevieja and deliver to Santiago de la Ribera please?

Banking in Spain - 8 replies

charfar01 Posted by charfar01 in Banking and finances in Camposol on Wed Dec 9, 2020 12:57pm

Hi All

Hope you're managing to stay safe and well. I have a holiday home near Mazarron and use Bankia for my bills.  Earlier this year they jacked their monthly fees up from €6 to €14 as well as other charges. They've just merged with Caixa and it looks like the fees will go up yet again so I'm looking for an alternative bank.

I only use it to pay water, electric and council bills. I don't use a card and deposit euros cash whenever I'm out there so it doesn't get used much and I strongly object to paying so much. I know banking in Spain is different to the UK but.....

So, can anyone recommend a Spanish Bank with lowish fees? Does anyone use one of the UK banks like Starling etc to pay their Spanish bills? If so, which, and how easy/difficult is it to set up.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Buying Wet Wall in Murcia / Alicante? - 4 replies

International travel to Spain - 10 replies

chris whitley Posted by chris whitley in Flights, baggage and airports in San Pedro del Pinatar on Tue Dec 8, 2020 7:26pm

I am trying to establish if I am allowed into Spain by air and if someone can tell me I would be grateful. I have a second home in San Pedro del Pinatar and would like to visit it in January if possible. I am not a resident of Spain. I am aware that a negative PCR test is needed with a locator form but maybe I would be denied entry anyway. I would like to fly in to Murcia but as far as I can tell that is next to impossible at the moment so that would mean going to Alicante which involves going from one autonomous region to another and that is probably banned too?

I am not asking for an opinion on whether morally I should travel to Spain but just what is allowed.

Padron, Residencia and driving licence exchange - 3 replies

JulieS Posted by JulieS in Residency in Santiago de la Ribera: padron, residencia and passport advice on Tue Dec 8, 2020 11:15am

We finally completed on our property purchase in Santiago de la Ribera recently and have booked an appointment for the padron at San Javier town hall on 23-12.20. We are now living in the property.  We need to ensure we are fully prepared for that appointment so we can immediately apply for our Residencia and driving licence exchange and are enquiring for recommendations of companies who can assist with this please ? Appreciate the timeframe is challenging which is why we need help.

PCR Test - 14 replies

Lynne21 Posted by Lynne21 in Coronavirus discussion in Sucina: Covid-19 news and updates on Tue Dec 8, 2020 11:08am

Hi all,

I have just arrived from Gatwick so thought I would post this regarding the test. Whilst in the queue to board Easyjet we all had to produce the Fit to Fly certificate before being allowed on the plane in the U.K. No form..no flight. Upon arrival in Alicante all we had to show was the QR form at a desk set up just past the Passport Control.. Nobody asked to see the certificate in Alicante airport.  Some people saying on this forum that you can get the test at a U.K.airport but would be interested to hear from anyone who has had this done. Everyone I spoke to on the flight had private tests done but expensive in comparison.
