I am retired and spend from 1st Nov/31st Jan & 1st May to 30th July in Mar de Cristal.

To keep my self active and not bored i am hoping that i could pick up some driving work, whether Airport or long journeys across Europe or UK.  

Water where I live is taken care of by Hidrogea and the bills are up to date, so I was not pleased when Hidraqua took €94.47 from my bank account without warning.

It is Hidraqua.ivcert.net (not .es) and the language was in Catalan, which I do not expect down south in Murcia.

They tried  a number of times to get me to sign to take money from my account, despite already having done so. I got my money back and have told my bank not to allow them to take any more money.

What bothers me is how they got my bank details? The only way I can think is through Mangatel (internet).

Today's news: Two brothers are furious after they kicked squatters out of their £170,000 flat but were later arrested by police who helped the trespassers move back in. Siarhei and Aleh Pakrouski, aged 29 and 35, originally from Belarus , now face jail for 'defending their property' in the El Raval neighbourhood, Barcelona.

The police were quite brutal when the two owners were arrested. Things have been stolen from their property and it could take a year and more for this to go to court.

I did intend a shop in Cartagena but driving and parking there are a nightmare.

Many pass Carrefour on the way into town. It has a photo booth by the petrol station entrance, on the left as you walk through the doors. Six euos for six photos. It takes five and ten euro notes and one euro coins.

Brits are being warned about the dangers of a common drug used by Spanish doctors called Nolotil, which has been linked to dozens of deaths among tourists and expats and has been dubbed the 'killer painkiller' by campaigners.

Metamizole, commonly sold under the brand Nolotil, is banned in the UK and more than 40 countries worldwide, but is popular with doctors in Spain - many of whom live and work by the phrase 'Nolotil if pain'.

It can cause a condition known as agranulocytosis, which wipes out white blood cells, increasing the risk of sepsis and even triggering organ failure.

Anti-Nolotil campaigner Cristina Garcia del Campo said she knows of almost 40 Britons who have died after being given the drug since 2016, adding that the real number could be far higher. 

Mark Brooks, a father-of-one from Derbyshire, is thought to be the latest victim. The otherwise healthy 42-year-old was given Nolotil after complaining of pain while golfing near his home in Alicante, and died four days later.

Flat roller In a usable condition....

We are just gathering all our documents ready to apply for our non lucrative visas. According to the spanish consulate web page since 1st October 2023 all appointments have to be made through a company called BLS. Does anyone here have any experience of this company?
