Medical and Dental insurance

Hi, we’re with Salus, and have been for the last 4 years. We’re in a similar age range and pay €1750 pa for us both.

We have an extensive battery of tests every year and get one dental checkup, clean and polish included. They see you very promptly; emergency immediately, doctors appointments usually next day. And have now used them several times for different ailments, between us we’ve had 4 MRI scans, emergency treatment and they've covered everything. I can only say they’ve been excellent.

The broker we use, Alfonso, is excellent also, he will book you appointments and get the authorizations for you. Though there is an app which you can use to do all this.

We use their hospital the other side of Torrevieja , even though Cartagena is closer, as the parking is better and most of the staff speak English. And if they don’t they’ll provide an interpreter. Plus, we go to the local clinic in Los Alcázares for doctors appointments. Again they’ve always spoke English there.

I use Sanitas, which is part of the BUPA group. I pay approx. €750 pa (aged 53 with nil pre-existing conditions), including dental cover. The dental cover also includes 2 x hygienist appointments and 2 x check-ups per year.
