Can anyone recommend a local shop where I could buy an acoustic guitar, rather than going to the bother of bringing one out from Ireland.

Why not try your local charity shop? You might find one to your liking cheaply. There are currently 2 available in my local Noah's Arc animal charity shop . €25 each, tel. 711 016 236.

Theres a music shop in San Javier…along side street near Pavo fish shop…google it
