Just come back from using Covera airport not a great experience  overall

We arrived on. Monday evening then had to wait 1 hour to pick up are car hire from firefly because they only had 2 staff on and one was new.

We came back 1 week later had to wait 40 minutes for a Costa coffee .

Went through customs queued up for 20 minutes for a bottle of water only 1 member of staff serving.

Only 3 flights going out on the Monday evening all were delayed to make matters worse no one could here the tannoy announcements.

People were sat on the floor as there were not enough seats for everyone, god knows what it will be like when it’s gets busy.

Sounds about right re the tannoy announcements & the seating.

Both designed by an idiot.

Seating for approximately 80 people at each gate yet the aircraft hold approximately 180 people  !!

I don't know why you had to queue up for a bottle of water though. It's in all the vending machines for 1 euro.

Why on earth they built this white elephant to replace a far superior one at great expense beggars belief, very underwhelmed by Corvera, early days but it’s been up for years.

I discussed that very question (“why built ?”) in a Spanish conversation evening recently, discovering that “white elephant “ translates nicely.  The generally agreed, short answer was that it was a “political project”.   I suspect most here knew that anyway.

It was built when there were plans to build a Paramount theme park nearby with hotels etc.

The San Javier airport is owned by the Spanish military and they now have plans to open as an aircraft museum. It was never a permanent arrangement.

The military will have received a very healthy income for the use of the airport, far more than any museum. As for building it on the back of a pie in the sky theme park, are you really serious?
