That's too expensive. I would query this. We have a 2 bed, 2 bath duplux and we pay between 15/16 euros a month when we are not there. Incidentally, I received an email from Iberdrola today informing me my contract ends on 22/9/2020 No idea what they will charge me on the new contract. I intend to find out!

This topic has been so useful! I have been in my Sucina apartment for 5 months and am planning on moving to somewhere else due to the extortionate charges for electricity. How can I get a bill for 92 euros for 10 days of being in the apartment?? Even when I am not there, the charges are high??

Attach a screenprint of your bill and email it to nordic energy.

They will ring you and talk you through it in English.

Good luck

Have you got a smart meter installed ??

If not have you been giving or have had regular meter readings taken ??

Have you looked at the meter serial number & does it match with that number on

your bill ??

Are you paying for another apartments electric ??

If not you may be paying catch up charges for estimated bills.

I would check all these thing before moving supplier because out of the frying pan into the fire comes to mind.

Take your point.

Dont know if I have a smart meter cant see it.

And when I try to ask Iberdola they dont respond.

Bills are supposedly actual readings. Will see if I can find the meter.

Thank you

There you go then Kathy...........

It will say on your bill if the readings are estimated or not.

On Iberdrolas bill halfway down the left hand side of the page Lectura anterior & a date

below that Lectura real & a date.

Then consumo en el periodio with 2 readings the difference between the 2 readings is what you have used & charged for.

Do your sums carefully if you are thinking of switching to dual tariff. We looked at this some years ago but found there was little we could use during the night period - the pool pumps must be on when the pool is in use so we thought it useless to run at night; we distrust washing machines so would not run it unsupervised; used the aircon for cooling when the sun was up (of course!) and were all-electric for cooking and tended to cook during daylight...

The extra costs for the peak usage were high, so on balance we stuck to normal tariff.

On the plus side we have just been informed by Iberdrola that we will be getting a discount off the energy charges when the contract renews - a sort of loyalty bonus?

@PeterC

I did the same calculations a couple of years ago & came to the same conclusion.

I looked at the Spanish energy comparison website & although I could switch to a slightly cheaper Curenergia ( Iberdrola ) tariff I want to remain on a 'Pay Whole Bill' tariff not use a pay fixed amount monthly tariff.
