We are buying in Roldan.

The property has an Alarma Verisure system installed.
I know the current owners pay €38 per month for the providers to respond, check or speak via cameras and passworded calls to check. It has an app too

I am wondering if this will work as a stand alone system in any more limited way without paying the monthly fee? Does anyone know?

Its geared to the operations unit which monitors all.

Stop the fee, the system stops and does not work, as it is killed manually by the operator contractor you pay to.

You will have to remove the system, or they will come and get it, and put in at your cost another stand alone system, but of course it is not monitored, who will reset it if you are away, and there are rules on the amount of noise the alarm can make.

My understanding is the equipment has been paid for so will be mine. But if I’m not using it I guess they can have it. I can easily buy a stand alone system and install it myself, wireless monitored remotely by me much like I do with my U.K. home. I can call the police if required.
Probably the rules in España re alarm noise will be similar to the U.K. ? I’m which case a new system would comply anyway. I’m not too worried about that.
more concerned with €38 per month. I dont pay that at home (U.K. ) and wouldn’t here.
Thank you though. :)

No probs.

Yes you may be right on the equipment.

With the present alarm system the police are automatically called, not that they often turn up.

With your own system, you may not get them at all.

The present system automatically records, and takes pictures which can be instantly sent to the police system.

Yes of course it all costs, so I do not blame you for making savings.

Go for it.

Thank you. It doesn’t sound a particularly reliable police response with or without images!!!

I think I will buy a system and install myself that will allow me to access, it will take images and forward to me.   Most systems provide this functionality at a good price.

Many thanks though.
regards
