Hi can anyone give me an idea of what health insurance would cost for a permanent resident in Spain?

Nobody can give you an idea because they don't know your circumstances.

Age / health status etc etc

Late 50s/early 60s, without significant pre-existing conditions, budget 900 Euros per person per year.

Contact Tailor Made Health Insurance Spain and they will give you a quote. I found them very helpful and just signed up with DKV

We (66 & 74) are with DKV. We pay 330 per month full cover.

We have paid just over 1700 per annum for us both. No medical conditions both under age 60. Plan was with Assa for residencia

Assuming you’re British and pensioners do you not receive health cover via the S1?

As Peter3473 says, should you not be covered by the S1?

"We are different" - just (today) bought our permant property in Spain....our S1 is (was) with an other country....I would say we are travel a lot and have points in more than one country....and my better half insits that we have "local privat" health cover we are staying more than 90 days.....
