Good morning, I am trying to open a fee free non resident account, but I am having difficulties.

I have seen a lot of posts recommending various bank accounts such as N26, Cajamar wefferent, Caixa and others.

The problem I have is that you either have to be a resident or be in Spain to open up the account by visiting a branch.

I will be moving to Spain permanently in 3 month, but need to get a bank account before my arrival in Spain and before applying for residency.

Is there a bank account which I can open without being present in Spain that doesn't have a monthly fee.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Open a "Wise" account, greatly recommended on here, but I have Cajamar. Wefferrent account, but you need to open in branch, maybe change later.

Hi

I just opened a N26 Bank on Line and I live in Dublin Ireland

The Big technical problem was trying to agree to verifying my identity because BEFORE you click on the green button to continue you have to click on 2 circles on left side of the information.  there is  Little Rings Are So Faided or Hard to see even with glasses, click on both of them and the green virtual button will get greener.when you have clicked on both of them

Any Problem Contact me again

regards

michael

Thank you so much. So far I have had problems opening an account due to being being British (not EU). I will try this bank and let you know if I have the same problem.

Hi Patsy, we had a non resident account with Caixa when we first purchased. When we moved here, it was converted to a resident account and we have paid no bank fees for the past five years. If you are moving in three months, it may be worth popping in to see Manuel or Ivan, to see what may be possible for you. It is sometimes handy to have your bank on your doorstep.

Good luck.

Hi first Wise is not an actual bank account but a currency exchange company that will give you a debit card which you can use as normal but will pay for withdrawal at ATMs you can also set up direct debits with the

I have 2 fee free online accounts, Wefferent and Sabadell and set them up without going to any branch. However I did have some difficulty in the beginning and it was suggest I go to a branch to finalize the Process, I  then changed the language to Spanish, and hey presto it worked.

If you have your nie and Spanish address should be no problems.

Hope this helps
