Not heard of anything.
Probably highly unlikely to be honest.

Thanks Rowland for your quick reply, one quick question that’s been floating around in my head (as I’ve seen lots of properties on line which we like and some have water purification systems) so was wondering is the tap water drinkable or is it not rec
The tap water on Camposol is perfectly safe to drink.
The water purification systems make it more pleasant I suppose but they are not really necessary.

The problem with “expanding” D sector, is that most of the undeveloped land is not owned by the council, it is owned privately. Until the ban on planning permission, which has been in place since 2016 is lifted, it is unlikely that any new facilities will be forthcoming. A small group of us are trying to add additional facilities to the only sports designated land on D sector, however these will not include shops and restaurants. The new plan parcial for Camposol is being redrawn and we will have to wait and see what that says about new facilities, but don’t hold your breath, that is a four year project, due to complete in time for the next local election.

Thank you all for your help, hope to be out there early next year to view properties and get to know the area and people of campo

Tap water in Camposol is very hard(calcium rich) which. if you are drinking it a long time could affect the kidneys(painful stones), It's also detrimental to your household appliances, which is why people install filters/softeners, and for taste bottled drinking water. There are a lot of problems with water leaks and very low pressure, so be sure to check the flow in any property or you could also need to install a pump.

20 years ago when sector D was being built. estate agents were actually using the promise of a second shopping centre over there as a selling point. - whatever happened was down to council lack of even planning permission. let alone attracting necessary businesses.

If you look at the plan parcial it shows a school and sports facilities above the area where the football pitch and exercise area are. At least one estate agent (no longer here) did their own marketing material showing shops, bars and restaurants in that space. It was never going to happen as the land was specifically designated for a school and sports. Another Camposol urban legend😢

As per Christine78's reply, the water calcifies kettles, irons, water heaters, showers, tap heads, etc. A water filter fitted to the input supply with a cartridge that you change every few months is about €150; but bottled water is very affordable - we pay 75c for 6 litre bottles and use those for drinking and cooking, then periodically de-calcify appliances.
