Any advice appreciated on this situation. We had a guy turn up in the official looking yellow van today and wanted 5.99 for a small package that came from China. He didn't have any change and no ability to accept a card. We had no idea what it was. We were counting out change but we were suspicious. In the end my wife opened it and it was an earring that she had never ordered. No idea where it was from. But the postal driver said he would have to report it to the police because we opened it without paying the excess fee (import duty?).

Been here 4 years and never had this situation.

Anyone else know something about this?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a scam. If your wife hasn't ordered anything from China and the guy doesn't have the correct paperwork that goes with the packet, then I would just forget it. Hopefully other people will be warned when they read your post.

Hi...if you or your wife knew neither of you had ordered anything then refuse to pay for the item...
