Sorry but it is not “many areas”but all areas, have you checked with your travel agent/airline? Schools, iniversities, bars, restaurants, markets etc are all closed. Wehad an  hospital appointment cancelled due to the virus. Many shops are sold out of essentials and I don’t mean toilet paper! I think what the government hope will happen us the virus will run its course, people not going out and spreading it.

Unless you have a really urgent reason to be here I suggest you stay where you are. You may get here, but can you get back?

Thanks,we have decided not to come for that same reason. The foreign office have said not to travel to Madrid or La Rioja ,but don’t want to get stranded.

Thanks for your response.

Are you allowed to get to your holiday home in the Mar Menor?

I am due to travel on Monday but will I be allowed in to the Los Alcazares and El Carmoli area?

I don't mind getting locked in but don't want to get locked out!!!

Andy - it is not alarmist to tell you that only supermarkets and pharmacies are allowed to open, and from what we have seen today idiotic panic-buying has virtually emptied the shelves. Your local bar will be closed for 2 weeks from tonight, as will tobacconists and other shops as well as every restaurant. I have not read if fuel stations will be allowed to open, but in any case you must not leave your home except for essential shopping (but see above) or medicines from pharmacies.
