Does anybody know if there are any areas in Los Alcazares where there would be processionary caterpillars. I walk my dog in the parks and i am worried he may come across them.

Be vigilant when out walking. Keep an eye on your pet and what they are sniffing and eating. Try to keep them close to you, perhaps use a short lead, long leads gives them more freedom but you cant see what they are sticking their nose in! Stay well clear of any PINE TREES for one! . To reduce the risks further stay away from any greenery especially trees. Im sure these catapillars can travel distances on ground! Here are a few things off one of the LA forums.

Also know where your local vet is in an emergency.

Hope all this helps.

The park near LaZona has recently been sprayed against them. Not sure how long before it's safe for dogwalking there again.
