Hi,we're coming out to our apartment on Monday 20th September, the first time in 18months. I keep looking at the government websites for both the UK and Spain and understand from these that as long as we're both double vaccinated, which we are, we don't need anything further, apart from the health/ locator form done 48hrs before. Is this correct?

Yes, you need the Spanish Passenger Locator Form and also proof of double vaccination, either a paper copy or vía the NHS app on your phone (not the NHS Covid Track and Trace app).  For return, you need an Antigen test carried out in Spain no more than 72 hours before your flight. It needs to be a certainly standard, so check the Gov.co.uk website for this. You'll also need to purchase, via the gov.co.uk website, your Day 2 PCR test so you have the reference number to put on your UK Passenger Locator Form. So going out you need 2 things and coming back 3 things. Hope this helps.

If you return to the UK after October 4th you will not need the antigen test 72 hours before your flight. The only test you will need is the day 2 PCR test once you have returned to the UK.

The Day 2 test will not need to be a PCR test just an antigen test I believe.

Might be wrong of course.

Day 2 test is still a PCR. UK gov talking about changing it to an antigen but not until later in October
