HI

can anyone out there advise me on how, if possible to keep giant cockroaches out of the apartment ( 2nd floor)

i have mosca net on window, never leave windows or doors open and still they get in and are frightening to say the least.

one actually walked up the wall while i was watching tv the other night and it was over three inches long.

i have just trapped another in the bathroom ( i don't like to kill things) and thrown it out.

how are these things getting in the flat when all plugs are in, i cover vents etc and cover the overflow holes in the sinks.

can these things come up through the toilet ?

any help is much appreciated.

( i also have one of those things plugged in to ward them off with a frenquency but obviously doesn't work)

Could be coming in under the doors.

Don't just throw them out when you catch them they will just come straight back in again !

Best & cheapest thing I have found to kill the is fly spray.

You can actually buy a can of spray to spray around all your door frames window frames skirting boards etc to stop them ( & kill them ) coming in.

It worked for me but was a tad expensive if I remember.

A can to spray around doors and windows sounds good. Was it expecially for this and if so do you remember where you brought it and what it looked like or was called?

It was about 9.50 euro in a big spray tin like fly spray.

Can't remember where I bought it now could have been our local ferretieria or Leroy's ( maybe look online ?? )

It said one spray lasted for several months I seem to remember.

Found it for you in Leroy Merlins Cartagena store

Cockroach Spray

Lasts for up to a year according to the tin.

I would spray it every month or so myself.

Virtually every supermarket should have them, or as I see the Chinese stores are opening again you could try them.

Mercadona sell little traps with a chemical that attract the pests and kills them - they sit unobtrusively in the dark corners thay cockroaches love.
