Following my recent post about the cowboys who botched up my bathroom and left it unfinished...... having been paid !!!!!! I have returned this week to find that they have also stolen a new cordless drill for my outbuilding!!! It's probably ended up being sold on the car boot that one of them sells at every Sunday by the old airport!! Sad when people have to do this to make a living!! Like I said before what goes around comes around quicker than some people think sometimes!! Thanks to a great couple Teresa and Karl I have now got my job finished and I can't thank them enough!! Please be aware everyone don't leave keys with cowboys and don't pay till the job is done ... I won't name and shame as maybe repercussions but he knows who he is and to scam and thieve from a disabled pensioner is the lowest of the low.

Thanks to everyone for their help and support!!!

That's a terrible story and pleased you got people to help you.

As for the scum I hope they rot!

I never pay for work in advance and no decent tradesmen would expect you to do so.

Good luck and don't let them bast**rds get you down.

I am so pleased this horror story is over for you and I agree that Karl and Teresa are brilliant and I can highly recommend them.

Glad you got it sorted in the end. What nationality were they? I saw this a lot when I had a place on the Costa Blanca. Almost every Brit claimed to be a 'builder', most turned out to work for a company called Bodgit and Run!! Always hold at least a good proportion of the money back until you're completely satisfied. If they say they need the money for materials, I would be on my guard.

Hi

I have just joined the forum and I am very sorry to hear about your experience, We are just purchasing a house and will require some trades to carry out some work. Is there anyway in finding repeatable trades persons.

I have been lucky to find someone very good now but it depends what kind of trade your looking for maybe on recommendations I would think. Just be careful and don't pay for anything until its finished to your satisfaction. I hope you find someone who can do a good job for you.

Regards....

We also had troubles with an idiot who botched our bathroom, and several other things as well. I have no problem naming and shaming, he was called Luis, despite the name is English, and lives in Los Alcazares.  Please be aware and avoid.  He failed to solder the shower pipework properly and we had flooding in the bathroom.  It’s been an expensive lesson.
