Any meteorlogical buffs out there?  Why the big discrepancy between Metro temperature forecasts and the reality?...    eg:  Meteo forecase 28 degrees / Our Thermom is 33 in the shade / Pharmacy signs = 40 degs??

What and why is there such a difference.   Not complaining just wondering.   But where ever the temp of 28 degrees is - to be honest I wish I was there today.

Temperatures vary from one street to another, depending on the sun, shade and breeze. Inland tends to be hotter because the land absorbs the heat and then sends it out again, whilst the sea reflects the sun. Those off-shore, afternoon sea breezes can cool the air quite a bit. The weather reports are usually general for an area and are often taken at an airport or from the capital of the area and not on the coast. Many of the farmacia thermometers are out in the full sun all day and some of them just don't work properly. It's great, isn't it? :-)

I consult "xc weather" for a forcast, its a good indication for a whole week. The current day is hourly and the rest 3-hourly. I like it because if rain is forcast its pretty accurat.

Thanks for the morning grin,Mags!  Just as I thought really.  In UK one never really thinks about such things.  We talk about it a loooot tho :))   I'm all clued up now and I shall sound like an expert if ever I am asked.
