We are seeking to move to Los Alcázares before next Spring, but having seen videos and reports of the terrible flooding just before Xmas we cannot find out anything about the situation now. Has no-one been out with a camera or phone, taking views of any mess and damage? It is a big town so we do not know if all of it was affected, or if some areas escaped or were particularly bad.

Any current news would be much appreciated, and we hope no-one on this forum suffered too badly.

Hi

We have just returned from our apartment in Puerto Marina. Our complex faired well apart from flooding in the garages. All the restaurants serving near 525 seemed fine. The devastation is mainly to the beach and the houses in the old town. Many people have lost everything in the old town.

When I arrived on Sunday the area from the strip down to the Hotel Najeros Costa and both ways had a coating of filthy mud. The water tankers, scrubbers and hoses have been out and it is gradually returning to normal. Locals have told me that though the mud did not get into their homes the sheer volume if rain has inevitably found every crack and loose tile. They don't make waterproof Spanish houses..!
