Primarily from a computer background, but I enjoy driving as well, also good quality DIY skills so anything really considered.

In order to help: are you already a resident of Spain? Pre-brexit (i.e. not on a NLV?

HI Peter.

Thanks for the reply i am still not sure of the intricacies of the Spanish regulations, I have opened a Spanish bank account which I believe is a good start.

If you are from the UK (i.e. not Eire or the EU) and not already a resident (pre- December 2020, so covered by the Withdrawal Agreement, then you cannot just 're-locate' and if you intend to work then you will need a visa to work, as follows:

  • a working visa - for which you will need a firm job offer from an employer, etc. and the employer has to support your visa application.
  • an 'autonomo' visa - which is for self-employed people and you need a full business plan, plus proof of sufficient income to live off if the business doesn't make the forecasted returns.

These visas then need renewing as you continue to work, etc.

These need to be applied for in the UK and the process takes about 3 months, so you need to start investigating your options asap...

Hope this helps - and happy to answer any further questions...
