Does anyone know what the area near the military base is like to live?

Hi Jonte.  There are some lovely properties down that way.

The area has farmers fields close by so you could get the smells!

The area of the Air Force Base ...which is the Headquarters of the Spanish Airforce ....will probably get maybe a little more noise.....I have heard the Base will turn into a Military Museum with Vintage Aircraft.   We noticed there has been quite a lot of noise/sounds almost ear deafening with  the Euro fighter and large transport planes flying in a month or so ago.  (Not every day I hasten to add).

Maybe someone on here has more info to add.

In short ....there is no perfect place on planet Earth.

Good luck.

Marg

Thank you Marg for your response, could I also ask what facilities are around there and how far to 525 etc?

I think MML has confused your question with thinking youre asking about Santiago de la Ribera Air Force base ...I presume youre asking about the military area at the far end of Los Alcazares....if so please ignore all the previous comments.

The area you recer to is very Spanish...part is known as Bahia Bella...generally very quiet as many are Spanish holiday homes. Its a short walk to the beach of the ‘old town’ which was the original village..there are plenty of Spanish bars and restaurants, the old hotel ...Encarnacion and the end of the paseo where you can begin a walk the full length of Los Alcazares for probably an hour or two....

the 525 is about an hours walk but you will really need a car...

Hope this is what you meant!!

Hello, thanks for your reply, yes it is the Bahia Bella area that we enquire about.

We probably won't invest in a car as we both like to walk, we may get a couple of cycles!

We assume that we would be better looking closer to 525 for things like banks, medical centre Tec?

Anyway, thank you again for taking the time to respond, much appreciated.

The old town has plenty of banks, the Post office and medical centres. Its the Spanish end but you dont have to go up to Los Narejos to do business etc.
