Property wanted to rent: advice on rental properties in the area

Hi there,
my husband and i are booked to stay in Alcazares on 3 August (if the flights don't get cancelled in the meantime). We visited earlier this year but didn't have chance to look at other nearby villages and towns. We wish to buy in the area but will be renting for around 6 -12 months in the first instance. We would ideally like not to drive for drinks or meal and so be in walking distance of bars and restaurants. We have a number of rentals to view in centre of Alcazares and Los Urrutias.
we wondered if there are any other areas that people would recommend us to look around. We don't mind driving to the beach but local bars are a must.
