Absolutely dreadful service! Takes us on average 45 minutes to an hour to get a taxi around midnight.
Spoke to a guy who’d waited that long last night who said he’d not been back to LA for 10 years as the taxi service was so bad, and nothing had improved in that time so won’t be coming back. Had the same said by people who were considering buying houses here, but won’t be bothering as they can’t get a taxi home.
Quite often we don’t go into town as we can’t get home. The bars and restaurants are losing out on so much trade!
At the taxi rank in the day there are up to 6 cars with the drivers just stood around chatting, but try to get one at night and you’ve got no chance! Don’t think they can be bothered to work nights.
No wonder people drink and drive or use unlicensed taxis. Plus, all the people who get mugged because they have no choice but to walk.
And it doesn’t improve in winter when all the tourists have gone home, as less can be bothered to work.
Spain needs to wake up to Uber or Bolt like in the UK, it would put most of these so called taxis out of business in days.
The mayor and the town hall need to do something about it as it’s spoiling a great town.
