Hi,

Does anyone know if the Iberdrola  ‘ home electrical protection’ can be cancelled on line please ?

I notice this has been added to my account and do not need it.

Many Thanks in advance

Have you recently renewed your contract? If so how did you do this, I am on the understanding to cancel this you have to go to your local Iberdrola office  My neighbours renewed/updated theirs at a Kiosk/stand located in a shopping centre and received a discounted contract, but was not informed of the home electrical insurance added, so they had to visit their local Iberdrola office to cancel in person.

Hi I was able to cancel mine through email. Just supply all your account information from your bill. There is also an app but not sure if this works. It did take them a while to respond though. Mark.

Thanks,

I have just had my account set up for me by my solicitor who has POA although the electrical protection wasn’t mentioned and just noticed it on my bill.

Will try and cancel it by e-mail

Whilst your at it I’d also check which plan they have put you on. You could save a few pounds 🙂 when my solicitor set me up I was on the night plan. However this all depends on how you will use your electric.

Commonly, Iberdrola offer a discount on the gas or electricity tariff if you take out a gas or electrical home services product such as this, so you may find that your electricity tariff increases if you cancel the electrical protection product.

However, clearly they should make you aware of this at the point where you sign up or change tariff.

you need to get in touch they will send you a revised contract if you have this cover you get a discount off your bill if you cancel this you lose the discount however the cost of the protection is greater than the discount in most circumstances

You need to e-mail them and ask to cancel, they will send you a new contract to sign. It could also be worth looking at which tariff you are on and see if possible to change tariff's at the same time. Just signed up to their night plan.
