I have a friend, in Portugal, who has a similar set up and she gets a share of the finished product, basically enough olive oil to last her a year as payment. Maybe you could arrange something similar ?.
Hi thank you for your reply we do get olive oil but a few bottles of oil and they get a crop worth thousands does not seem fair to me

Re- negotiate or look for new “partners”. Maybe include other products in the deal ?.

Hi We had a similar thing that a piece of our land is being used for apricots. We are now charging €50 p. a. to stop any possible 'sitters rights' although our lawyer says this cannot happen our Spanish friend says it can.

Surely there should be something in your deeds or sale documents about this arrangement with the local farmers ??
Get your solicitor to look into it for you.

Similar situation, no rent charged in return the farms collect the almonds and olives, prune the trees, replace any ailing ir dead trees and keep area clear over vegetation. Ask and they will usually give you some for your needs. These farmers are worth their weight in gold, try collecting fruit an£ being bitten by tics and other wee beasties.

No such thing as sitters rights here, the land belongs to the person named on the deeds and registered at the Kand Regustry.

We take our olives to the nearby processing factory, the crop is nit worth thousands as raw olives, less than 20 cents a kilo, pick a kilo. The oil after it has been processed and bottled maybe worth money but, as you say, you receive bottles of oil.
