I've been with Iberdrola for many years and more recently received bills and notifications online. These are all in Spanish and I've never really looked at them. The bills I understand and they get paid by DD, but does anyone on here know a way of getting them sent in English, or how to translate them easily? I had an interesting one today which needs interpreting.

I have been getting my bills online for years & as you say although the website is in English the actual bill is still in Spanish.

The bill that you see is actually an image so you cannot use Google to translate on the image that you see online.

You have to download the image then convert the image file to a pdf file THEN you can use Google translate on the pdf file.

A bit of a palaver..........

You need to download a simple file converter app like this one

Thanks for that, I'll give it a try. I don't know why Iberdrola don't send all comms out in English, they know who we are. The one I had today gives annual usage etc, so it's worth reading. Whether it's to do with the smart meter, I don't know, but I've never understood the benefits of a smart meter anyway. I just switch off things I'm not using.

Hi we had the same problem. The thing that worked for me was to email them explaining that I have problems translating the bill and is there any chance they could be sent to you in English. They can’t do it all the the bills you have already had but all your new ones will be in Englis

The alternative is to accept that you are in Spain and learn sufficient Spanish - along with typing tricky parts into Google translate.

On our Iberdrola bills you can change them on screen English Spanish and i think German or French.

There is a language tag you can click on at the top right hand side of the screen before you log in

Hope this is helpful?

Thanks for the comments folks. I can work out the bills, no problem. It's the occasional email notification regarding something else that's the problem. The one the other day includes something about a 10% discount and annual usage, I'll email them and ask if they'll send notices in English.

PeterC, I'm only in Spain for a few weeks of the year.....it's my house that's in Spain, and I just wish Iberdrola would send all notifications to me in English as they've known my nationality for many year's.
