How do I get from El Mojón to Cartagena by public transport

I’ve been looking online for buses from San Pedro del Pinatar or Pilar de la Horadada.
It looks as though I have to get to Murcia first and then from there to Cartagena. I have to be there for 9.15 on Monday morning so I was thinking of maybe staying over on Sunday or it might be the same price to hire a car for a day!
I can’t believe that it’s so difficult to find out! I’ve looked on the bus websites too. Next stop tourist office in San Pedro or do people find another tourist office helpful?
Hopefully someone can give me a clue! Please, I’m getting desperate.!
