Hi

We have recently bought a house and have moved permanently to the area. I would be grateful if anyone knows good bars for evening entertainment and if there are any quiz nights, karaoke or music nights on a regular basis.

We like the atmosphere in Amigos but don't want to be watching football every night. Similarly we enjoy the beach bars but they close very early, it seems, in winter

Welcome to San Pedro del Pinatar. You picked a lovely part of Spain to settle in.

There's a nice Irish pub located on the main drag as you come up from coast into the town. It's on the right, beside Liberty pub and Estrella's (sadly now closed). About 6/7 mins. walk from the sea front.

They hold good music nights, there is a good ex Pat mix of very friendly regulars, mostly English and some Irish,  it's spotlessly clean and is owned by a Spanish! Irish couple Iago and Trina.

If you like cocktails Iagio is your man, he speaks English and Trina speaks Spanish as well as English and is very helpful. They don't do food but I think they do have Quiz nights there.

We lost two good pubs this year, Estrella's and Triskell.   Winters can be quiet, we normally go home for Dec Jan & Feb but if you are now residents I'm sure you'll find the Island and Trina in particular a good place to source local knowledge. Not far away is Torrevieja which is bigger and would have more choices. A bit of a hassle if you have a few drinks and need a taxi though.

. A bit further south, about 15 mins on the AP7, there is a lively area in Los Alcazares which I suspect would open through the winter months but can't be sure of that. Nice Italian restaurant there called Little Sicily & it's sister The Lounge, directly across from it, is nice too but unlikely to have Quiz nights I'd say & Def no Karoke. Might be worth checking out that general area for evening entertainment. Again taxis may be a problem, not sure.

If I hear of anything else I'll get back to you. Best of luck and feel free to ask any questions - the forum is full of very helpful people who are happy to help.

Cheers Ann.

OK bar has a karaoke night one Sunday a month and quite a nice atmosphere. It is 2 mins walk from amigos just beside the kids park on Ave Pablo Picasso
