Hi Ann, when you read the health risk its a bit scary.
I remember 30 years ago I had an open log fire, but the W.H.O were ignorant on those days to the health risk. Now in many countries log pellet wood stoves are banned.
If you really want one first check neighbours.
Are others burning wood?
If not you can expect complaints from neighbours as they can be quite anti social.
A neighbour at my last property was cutting up treated palletts and burning them. The smoke apart from being totally toxic chocked everyone.
He evenrually had a deputation of very angry neighbours outside his house who were totally sick of the pollution. He was eventually Denuncied with the help of the Administrator.
In court they found out he did not have permission from the Townhall and he was eventually fined and it turned out he did not get permission of the community and was ordered to remove the stove.
Do check your local Townhall also just to keep legal.
They will keep the whole house warm, but it will turn your walls and ceiling black with pollution.
A word of caution;
My neighbour had the plaster ' melt' off the wall behind the stove with the immense heat from the stainless steel chimney the Specialist Shop fitted.
