If you are an EU citizen moving from another country, then I would suggest that the first thing that you need to do if you are planning on permanent relocation, would be to apply for Spanish residencia and get a social security number. In order to compete with the applicants for any job, you will most likely need to speak Spanish to a reasonable level, depending on what sort of job you want to do. There is high unemployment in Spain and the competition for jobs will be substantial. If you are not an EU citizen, then you will need to go through the official channels in order to apply for a TIE and work permit.
