I have seen on the internet that a drugs warrant was executed by Guardia Civil in San Pedro del pinatar and San Javier today seizing a substantial amount. It has raised concerns as this is an area I was considering moving to. Not sure if it was locals that were arrested. Can someone tell me are there a lot of drug related incidents in the area?

Thanks

Hi, we don’t think it was ‘locals’ , but we haven’t heard of any drug related problems in San Pedro Del Pinatar in the 3 years we have been here 😁

We've been here just over a year and have observed nothing alarming on the drugs front. I've been told to watch out for opportunistic theft, ie don't leave stuff visible in your car, watch your bag, phone etc. Keep your eyes open and doors windows locked etc. when you are not at home. The usual common sense stuff. With lockdowns etc. It's hard to get an accurate picture but our impression is that San Pedro is very safe and peaceful.
