Hi All. We're here at the moment, starting off the process of buying a new house in the area and whilst we're here, we'd like to visit some of the street markets that are around the various  nearby towns. We don't want the typical tourist markets, but those that are for locals and have house-ware, clothes and fruit and vegetables etc. Are these still running or has Covid-19 closed them down and if they are still on, where are they and which days of the week are they held? Thanks

Santiago de la Ribera is Weds, San Javier Thursday, San Pedro Monday....Los Narejos Saturday, Los Alcazares Tuesday, Torre Pacheco Saturday.....think thats enought for a start but you’ll find a lot of the same stalls at each one!

Hi, if you want to visit the one in Santiago de la Ribera on a Wednesday, make your way to the Mar Menor hotel/Repsol garage which are by the main roundabout before you get into town...the market runs off a street next to the garage.....

Thanks for the information guys. We visited the mercadillo in San Pedro de Pinatar this morning and may visit a couple of the others later on.

And if you go further inland, Mula has a market on Saturdays... we have one street for fruit and veg and then another leading up to the town hall square for everything else.

Also, in Bullas they used to have an artisan market on the first Sunday of every month... I hope it will resume again if Covid is ever controlled.
