Car maintenance itv test

Hi all we have recently purchased a apartment in the area for holidays at the moment and possibly longer stays in the future .We have also bought a car to get around as car hire seems very high ,my question is can anyone recommend a local garage for carrying out repairs services and the ITV test when ready English speaking would be better at first as my Spanish is limited at the moment and also is there anything like a Halfords to buy bits and bobs from.
