Hi, looking to have solar electric panels installed, have seen the Leroy Merlin option. Has any one got any other suggestions for installers? Also does anyone know the feed in tariff rate equivalent in Spain?

I had mine installed in 2021 by Iberdrola (who I think now work in partnership with Leroy Merlin as well). As they are my supplier and have access to all your consumption data, they can give you advice on the number & size of panels that are most cost-efficient for you - many people think 'the more the better', but that will increase the time for your Return On Investment (ROI). My ROI is 6-7 years, which is fairly standard.

The Feed in Tariff rate that I receive is just over €0.05 per kWh, however, as I am a resident, most of my savings are from self-consumption. If you have a holiday home then there will be long periods where you are not there and, therefore, not consuming, so you will benefit more from the FIT.

Hope this helps!

Great,  thanks for the info, as you say the sums are different for us, I can also avoid upgrading to 5kw supply, (when its rented out, sometimes its 2x air conn + washing machine etc) so that's another factor for me. Regards Jim
