Hi my name is David .my partner Paul and I are thinking if relocating to this area either this year or next year. We are planning to come over to check out the different locations in the next couple of months .

We have not been to this part of Spain before but have looked at lots of videos forums etc and it looks exactly what we are looking for.

We are 49 and 50 so not quite retirement age. We can buy a property with no mortgage but are wondering what the prospects of work are ?

I am a qualified chef but have worked in retail management for many years and my partner is customer service based with a little Spanish speaking. We are Both quite Chatty and easy to get along with. Paul is a little more quiet than me lol

Not too fussy about what we do, just need some pin money to tide us over.

Any advice or help, would be much appreciated.

Looking forward to hearing your views.

Well to you both.  Not sure on the job front but from other sites it seems it's who u know helps.  We r coming over in a few months but have decided on early retirement.  Most people advise on renting if u don't know the area as property is not easy to sell like in .uk.  Oct onwards seems the time to get long rentals and rent is not as high.  Hope you enjoy yr visit when u come and good luck with yr new venture

Hi

We have just completed on a holiday home in the area... would you not consider opening your own little restaurant/cafe over there? It's not like some of the other close by areas that are already flooded with English food and there are a lot of new build bring sold as 2nd homes etc...

We had a coffee shop cafe in the UK for 7 years .it may be a possibility.but I have seen so many people go under in Spain trying a bar etc . I'm not sure we want the risk. But who knows. It might be worth considering a if we can't find a job. Thanks for replying
