I had a Covid test carried out here, however they would only accept appointments from the doctors, as the results would be conveyed to them.

Maybe the system has now changed?

Best place to ask is your local pharmacy, they should know where you can get a private test.

I have had my test 20 euros for rapid antigen test (waited 5 mins collect on day)

Yes went from Alicante airport at checking in desk they wrote in the boarding pass.  PCR Ok

At Gatwick airport at boarder control checked my antigen test and let me through
