...he situation!! Just saying!

Agreed about their mis-use of the English language at times - 'lockdown' is intimidating and inappropriate. That aside though, if people hadn't emptied the shelves unnecessarily in the first place, they wouldn't  be there to snap. Similarly, if some can't be trusted to quarantine themselves, police patrols would be unnecessary too.

If this virus is going to be around for a while and people can't control themselves when faced with full supermarket shelves, wouldn't it be sensible to apply rationing certain essentials? Just a thought.

Agree about rationing. The Spanish must have known something was happening last Thursday morning as supermarket shelves and freezers were rapidly emptying. Unless people are going home to cook meals and bottle or freeze vegetables, why? Most fresh food will have ‘gone off’ by the time it is wanted and will have to be thrown away. Come on, use common sense.

According to the reports in the uk the whole of Spain is not in lockdown

About 3 areas are, with Madrid being one of them and the government says not to visit

However, at the time of writing, there is nothing to stop flights to the Costas

Clearly a moving target and anything can change but everyone has to remain vigilant

Can only hope regret in your response Murcia was first to stop movement

Then Madrid

Now we are in a horrendous situation that will see people broke I’ll or worse dead

No one expected it this bad

I honestly can not believe some of the comments that I have read on this feed.  This virus is not a flu, it will continue to kill 1000s if you do not do the sensible thing and self isolate. All you are being asked to do is stay at home, sit on the sofa and watch the TV, no one is asking you to go into war to battle this virus unlike the health professionals who are putting their lives on the line daily in order to save yours.  Try using a little common sense and have some compassion, so you may have to postpone your holiday this year, is that really such a hardship.
