The 1,000s dying of this will not agree with this

When will it become a pandemic, Italy is closed China closed Korea iran etc all in dire need of medication to combat the disease but to put it down as minimal ???

This is a typical ostrich, now we are in lockdown, with an average age group of 60 plus, yet these people are still keep making silly comments someone will read them while others will take heed of the situation

Because of our age, take care and do not listen to it will be alright, take note of the proffesionals

I think it is a big hype by the media. Turn of the telly and enjoy your life to the full. If we have to go we will go by corona or something else. Fear is killing us more and the businesses. I am a cancer patient and coming out to Spain in April. Unless airline cancels my trip I am still coming. ...

...I have already booked everything so I am willing to take that risk. Keep taking vitamin C and keep general hygiene and you will be fine

Oh dear only hope you do not resent sending this message the whole of spAin in lockdown but you rush out here

According to the reports in the uk the whole of Spain is not in lockdown

About 3 areas are, with Madrid being one of them and the government says not to visit

However, at the time of writing, there is nothing to stop flights to the Costas

Clearly a moving target and anything can change but everyone has to remain vigilant

All bars and restaurants are closed in Los Alcazares, San Javier etc for two weeks from midnight. This information was posted at lunchtime today so misinformation at 8pm is just ridiculous!

Just reading now about the lockdown

What is being reported in the uk is that people from Madrid where the virus is prevalent are looking to simply get out of town and head to the coast where many have holiday homes

According to the governor and police they have no consideration to self isolate and the fear is that many infected people will bring the virus with them. The police are setting up roadblocks and are looking to refuse entry but no one is clear how many may have already arrived or how effective their measures may be

Don't worry.

Around 3000 people worldwide have died of the virus.

Around 650000 die from flu every year worldwide.

At least you can have a flu jab !!

That does seem pointless. With regard to the media, however, we ignore them at our peril. If people panic as a result of their reports, the media should not be blamed. We should be thankful. Let's be honest, if they were not telling us what's happening and more people died, they'd be blamed for N...

...OT informing us of the situation. They can't win!!!

Re: The Media. As just reported on BBC Newswatch. Why this use of ‘lockdown ‘ which is a term used in prisons when prisoners are confined!? It should be quarantine. (Media misuse of word) Also it is media hype ie constantly showing shots of empty supermarket shelves which is  inflaming the situation!! Just saying!
