So as I think I have mentioned before my husband and I are planning to move to Murcia, we have narrowed it down to the area in the "triangle" between Los Alcizares, Balsicas and Sucina.  But what is life like there on a daily basis?

Is there much crime in the area?

Is public transport available (some of our family don't drive)

Is the cost of living on par with U.K. ?

Are there social gatherings etc ?

Is it really quiet in the evenings?

Any recommendations for areas to buy ?

What about Winter for example ?

Can you get internet, sky tv etc for example ?

This is such an important decision,we have flights booked for beginning of March and combining a visit with my birthday but any information anyone could give would be most appreciated.

If you want an idea of the answers to most of your questions then look at the facebook pages for your chosen areas. As well as business and buy and sell pages there are info pages, social groups and the local Ayuntamientos have their own pages so you can see whats going on in the towns.

There is crime like everywhere else, pickpockets and opportunist thieves you just have to be careful. Lots of social activities to join in ..depends on what you like to do.....plently of opportunities for volunteering too!

Depending on what you like you can look at the relative security of a community on one of the golf resorts or gated urbs, if you want the beach look along the Mar Menor...Santiago de la Ribera, San Pedro del Pinatar or the busiest place Los Alcazares....lots of choice a bit inland but you'll need a car for many places......San Javier is a very Spanish town if you want to be near the airport all of these places are no more than 10/15 minutes away ....google the properties for sale or rent in the various areas too....just ask lots of questions and be prepared when you come over in Mrch!
