Hi

My name is Lyn and i am shortly moving to Murcia with my husband and 2 pet dogs. the dogs are fully vaccinated but i was wondering does anyone  know if they need any extra protection for living in Spain they have had all their English jabs and rabies but i dont know if they need any other cover.

Cheers

If your pet passport is upto date they should not need any more jabs. Go and talk to your vet, he may suggest Heartworm tablets and protection from fleas and ticks.

I would also ask about extra protection for Leishmania. My dogs wear an extra collar which the vet recommended.

They will need flea/tick collars as well as protection from leishmania they get from sandfly bites.

We get ours from medicanimale.es, considerably cheaper than the vet.

We are doing same and can't wait.  I have been told a scalibut collar for sand bites.  I'm hoping my dog settles ok.  More worried about her than us 😄

I know we are really worried about the dogs, what with the ferry crossing and protecting them against illness,  its a big change for them isnt it

It is.  We r not going over by ferry.  I struggle with seacsickness on the huge ocean liners let alone a ferry.
