Which routes have you all found best, driving from Murcia airport to Puerto de Mazarron?

We've googled it and there seem to be 3 possible routes. The easiest one seems to be to take RM16, RM601, RM15, RME34, RM332 - we  don't mind paying tolls if it means more straightforward journey.

Any advice gratefully received!

We did it this morning. I used Google, take me to Corvera airport. We had a trouble free trip that took 29 minutes and was well sign posted. The airport is also easy to navigate.

Thanks for replying, glad you had a good journey. Did you use the route I've described?

We used the RM 3, that was from Camposol, I didn't take much notice just followed Google instructions for a stress free trip.

Good idea!

We loved the old airport but it'll be intersting to see what this one's like.

The route you described is the route we always take, thanks to Google. There’s one point near the airport that my phone gets confused with, but just follow signs to Fuente Alamo de Murcia. It’s very scenic - we pass hardly any other traffic & there’s a petrol station at the 601 junction. It takes us around 35-40 mins.

Hi Gaby,

I have an inherent dislike of satnav (call me old fashioned) but the route you describe I used only last week...once you find your way out of the airport it's a doddle to Fuento A., thence to Las Palas and then the 332 to P. de. Maz. Whether it's quicker than the highway route or not I don't know.

Thanks so much for replying. This is sounding more straightforward than it looks on the map - we'll find out tomorrow!

If you are hiring a car be aware there is not a garage at the airport to refuel and you have to go off the motorway before you get to the airport to refuel
