Thanks for warning us, we will need to refuel.

Not sure what happened but the route we took from the airport didn't quite go to plan as we inadvertently found ourselves on the A30. Didn't have a clue where we were going until we got onto the AP7 and then we were on familiar territory.

The new airport was good, very quiet but the queue for Goldcar was horrendous. All the others had no queues so not sure why that was. Will try a different firm next time.

We always use firefly never had a problem. Also you can only get sandwiches and drinks from smiths or vending machines after you check in.there is a small cafe before you go to  departure lounge.I don't know if they are going to  improve this.we were there in march and going again in June. I will update this if there is any change

Goldcar have horrendous reviews, although they were okay the last time I used them. I prefer Centauro who are slightly off airport and who's staff are very pleasant and seem less likely to rip one off....there is their free bus just opposite the arrivals so no problem with getting to them.

There is a COSTA coffee shop as you go in, but no subway or similar yet.

The way you describe sounds similar to the one we always use to get from Fuente to the port. Fuente to Las Palas, cross motorway towards Tallente then it us signposted Nazarron. Over mountain to Isla Plana then straight into Port. Time 25 mins maximum.

Jerome. Coming in to Fuente Alamo on the 601 - how do you get across town onto the Las Palas road (E15)? Looks a right maze on Google maps. Graham

It's actually relatively simple...approaching Fuento keep to the left (East) and just keep going South...Las Palas is signposted.
