Meet new people / friends

Hi, 

We have just moved to the Lorca area and looking for local groups that might be of interest to meet new people in the area. 

I get the feeling that not much goes on during July and August due to the heat. 

But looking for: Gardening clubs, book groups, Horse/coffee mornings, MTB or road biking groups, walking groups, food groups etc. 

any suggestions would be great.
