Hello,

Does anyone know how much a simple cremation funeral with no service costs, and whether it is difficult to arrange? We had a quote recently for 3,500 euros each and wondered whether this represented good value for money? We are not planning on going anytime soon (hopefully) but thought  it might be prudent to arrange something in advance. Many thanks.

That sounds expensive to me.

I would have thought around 2000 euro ??

Plenty of 'English' funeral directors around that would give you a price.

we looked long and hard at this topic, not much to be saved between best (lowest) prices, most around 3.4 to 4k.

Avoided Avalon based on nonsense spouted by their sales people touting for business.

We have been led to believe any non-insured funeral can be both traumatic and expensive with lots of admin required.

Our choice was to go with "The English Funeral Director"  Various payment options available.

A friend died down in Andalucia when we lived there. He had little disposable funds, and no religious belief and we negotiated with a funeral director for a no-ceremony cremation. The paperwork is simple and they agreed a pauper's rate of a few hundred Euro.

Best to do all your research now so you know what to do when it happens, as it will.
