I’ve fallen in love with the ricote valley. We are looking to find out from people who live or spend time in the winter what it’s like. I’m trying to find a non tourist area with good in (Spanish terms) winter weather. Any views experiences or advice would be really helpful. What are typical winter days like ? Windy etc x

We have owned a house for about 4 years but only use it for holidays so that limits our view a bit but generally we find the winter months really pleasant. Even in January, there can be a plenty of days that are lovely. We are in the hills outside Abarán and there is wind all year round but don't find it troubling. In summer it's a real blessing. As you'll probably know, it can be wet and when it rains, it really really rains. Make sure you don't have a leaky roof!
