Transferring old videos from VCR format to DVD or digital

We've just been clearing out our cupboards and have found 5 or 6 old family videos that we would love to keep and transfer to digital format. We threw away our old VCR players when we moved here, so we are looking to buy a working second-hand video player to be able to transfer our videos to either DVD or MP4 format. Or if someone has an old VHS video player that they want to keep but would be happy to rent out for a couple of days. that would also be an option. San Pedro del Pinatar area.
