Car scrapping

Hi having to scrap my old car after an accident can someone tell me what I need to do with the certificate I was given
I scraped a car a few years ago . I took the certificate to my local tax office. They deregister it once produced and you then are not charged the tax.
I did this in huercal overa but I assume it will be the same where you are
