Hi,

Can anyone recommend an English speaking doctor for my daughter who is staying at our place on holiday? She has a GHIC card but needs medical advice. Thanks in advance.

You can only use your GHIC card in the social security health centres and hospitals, so you will have to take pot-luck as to whether the doctor will speak English. That said, my doctor in the main San Pedro centro de salud speaks pretty good English and so does the nurse. They are open weekdays until 3 p.m. and you can go in and speak to the receptionist with your GHIC card. If you prefer to pay or have travel insurance and want to go to one of the many private clinics, then there is more likelihood of being guaranteed an English speaking doctor.

Thank you, that's helpful to know. I think she'll try the san pedro one first as that's our nearest.

Thanks.
