Do you have to prove you can support yourself when living in Spain?

We hope to retire early and live off savings until pension time.

The estate agents don't tell you any of this as they only want to sell you a house!

All the info you need is on the CAB Spain website...it tells you the resources needed for residencia. We had to show 3 months bank statements of pensions paid into Spanish bank. uou also need to get your S1 form from HMRC to prove your acces to Spanish health care. If you need elp try Andreea in Trebol estate agents in the 525 square in Los Alcazares shecwill help you with everything for a small charge

The S1 form is only for pensioners...I believe you have to take out private health care for the first year, then you can pay in to the state scheme until you qualify.

Below retirement age you have to take out Private Health Insurance and has to be of a certain level (not just a basic Policy), otherwise it will get rejected.
